Joseph FavazzoJoseph Favazzo, President/CEO

Since founding Modern Medical in 1986, Joe has grown the company into a leading provider of services for the workers’ compensation industry. He remains involved in all aspects of sales and account maintenance, building relationships with managed care organizations, insurance companies, case managers and suppliers. Supporting Modern Medical Core Values of People, Integrity, Ethics, Attitude and Loyalty, Joe leads the Modern Medical staff in their quest for excellence in customer service.

Tony PascoTony Pasco, Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Tony joined Modern Medical in 2001 as Regional Account Manager. In this capacity, he cultivated relationships with customers in 13 states, receiving multiple awards for Sales Representative of the Quarter and of the Year. In his current role as Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Tony supervises a team of regional managers nationwide, oversees the manager of Modern Medical’s Business Development department, and is responsible for maintaining and growing the company’s national book of business. A graduate of Mount Union College, Tony previously held supervisory and managerial roles in the industrial laundry business, and also served in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

Robyn SatterfieldRobyn Satterfield, Director of Clinical Services

Specializing in clinical pharmacy, Robyn has held positions in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospital systems, skilled nursing facilities and rehabilitation centers. She joined Modern Medical as Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services in 2004, managing all aspects of the company clinical programs in addition to supporting the Business Development Department. Robyn received a Bachelor’s of Science in pharmacy from Ohio State University and a PharmD degree from Ohio Northern University, and is a member of a variety of professional organizations in the pharmaceutical industry.

Kelly FunkKelly Funk, Director of Human Resources

A certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) with over 11 years of human resources experience, Kelly began her tenure at Modern Medical as a Customer Service Representative before spearheading the launch of the company HR department. As Director of Human Resources, Kelly serves as a strategic partner in the organization, whose goals are to emphasize that our employees are our most valuable asset, promote best practices in employment relations, and contribute to the continued success of the company and those we serve. Kelly holds a Bachelor’s of Science from the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to joining Modern Medical, Kelly served as a Sales Representative for an international provider of services to the healthcare, pharmaceutical and research markets. Kelly is also an active member of numerous professional and community organizations.

Chris GallChris Gall, Director of Sales

Chris joined Modern Medical in 2002 as the Regional Account Manager over the northeast territory. During his tenure, he has been the recipient of multiple awards for his sales achievements. Modern Medical has continued its business relationships with clients that Chris acquired and developed. As Director of Sales, Chris manages a nationwide team of senior account managers, aiding and supporting the company’s growth, mission and goals. Chris has 14 years of experience in the workers’ compensation industry at various management levels. He possesses a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Hygiene Management from Millersville University.

Ron CarterRon Carter, Director of Information Services and Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Ron came to Modern Medical with more than 23 years of experience in technology fields and consulting; including technical and executive management positions. He has demonstrated his experience and expertise in such industries as insurance, banking, retail, manufacturing and eCommerce. Ron has worked for nationally recognized companies such as American Health Holding, Keane Incorporated and Cambridge Technology Partners. He has been instrumental in the conceptualization, design and development of Modern Medical’s flagship software solution, VeroSuite. In his current role as Chief Information Officer, Ron provides leadership and strategic oversight to Modern Medical’s information services competencies and capabilities, overseeing Modern Medical’s Agile (SCRUM) Solution Development, client support services, and maintaining the technical infrastructure at the company’s corporate headquarters. Ron possesses a combined Bachelor’s of Science/Bachelor’s of Arts in Business & Information Systems Management from the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University.

Shedeh HaleShedeh Hale, Director of Network Development

Shedeh joined Modern Medical in 2010, bringing nearly a decade of experience in provider and network services, including leading contract negotiation teams on achieving targets on costs, vendor credentialing, maintenance and relationship building. She spent eight years in various management positions at Medical Services Company (now MSC Care Management) in Jacksonville, Fla. There, she was instrumental in the development and implementation of a web-based vendor selection program. Shedeh has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s in Marketing from the Coggin School of Business in Jacksonville. She is a member of the National Contract Management Association, where she serves as treasurer of the Jacksonville chapter.

Angie Winchell, Controller

Angie joined Modern Medical in 2012. She is responsible for management and oversight of Accounts Payable, Finance and General Accounting. As the Controller, Angie brings 24 years of experience managing multibillion-dollar accounting, finance and revenue operations. Angie holds a Master Degree in Business Management from the University of Dayton and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Accounting from Franklin University.
